- OCI has selected eco-friendliness as its core value to practice sustainable management and strives to fulfill its corporate social responsibilities for environmental protection. In order to maintain eco-friendly workplaces, all OCI executives and employees are required to comply with the following environmental principles and promote continuous environmental improvement activities while performing their job responsibilities.
- Environmental Principles (ECO)
-
- + Environment: Environmental aspects are considered throughout management activities, and environmental impacts throughout production, such as procurement, manufacturing, storage, transportation, and sales, are minimized. For the sustainability of limited global resources, environmental improvement activities such as raw materials, energy reduction, and waste recycling are promoted.
- + Cooperation: OCI aims to establish social trust through communication with stakeholders, including suppliers and customers. OCI actively participates in climate change mitigation, ecosystem conservation activities, and forest protection activities based on the active cooperation of executives and employees.
- + Outcome: Employees are expected to comply with laws and other requirements in a positive and voluntary manner, and continue to improve the environmental management system to enhance environmental performance.
OCI Holdings and OCI have established and operated an environmental management system to comply with domestic and foreign laws and agreements and implement global-level environmental management. Through this environmental management system, we strive to establish the strategic direction of the company and to develop strategic tasks accordingly to play a role as an eco-friendly company.

Establishment of the Chemical Management System
In response to tightened laws and regulations related to chemical management, OCI introduced CMS (Chemical Management System) since June 2019 and have been operating it since. The CMS integrates all the systems involved in the purchase and management of a total of 15,500 chemicals by computerizing the entire process for each chemical, from purchase to use and disposal. In the past, the department in charge of purchasing chemicals was separate from the one in charge of managing them, making integrated chemical management difficult. However, the adoption of the CMS has enabled to purchase and manage chemicals simultaneously, improving both safety and efficiency. In the future, OCI will preemptively respond to laws and regulations related to chemicals through our CMS.
